As a caring corporate, ZEE wants to touch people’s lives, not just through entertainment but by building a sustainable enterprise that works towards creating a better world. To help raise environmental awareness and sensitivity among employees, ZEEIsGreen organised ‘Sustainability Week‘ from April 18-22 as a countdown to Earth Day on April 22nd.
The week kicked off with the launch of the ‘Carpooling Platform for Esselites’ pan-India which encourages Group employees to help reduce pollution and traffic congestion by opting to carpool to and from work. Employees can team up with their colleagues to form carpools by simply registering on the platform on www.esselconnect.in.
Employees were also encouraged to join the sustainability movement by sharing their Green Ideas on simple ways to make their home and workplace more environmentally friendly. These ideas were then shared on ZEEIsGreen’s social media platforms to help spread awareness and to create an environmentally-friendly culture.
The week concluded with the ‘Organic Kitchen Gardening’ workshop for employees, conducted by Earthoholics at the Lower Parel, Mumbai office. During this workshop which received tremendous participation, employees were educated on how to grow their own vegetables and herbs at home. They were also imparted important information on gardening including understanding sunlight, pot sizes, soil mix, seed sowing, manuring, watering, transplanting, after care, yield and natural pest remedies. Workshop participants also received a home gardening kit, with instructions on how to care for and nurture the seedlings.
As we work towards our Vision 2020 goals, ZEE continues its pledge to go completely green by 2020. With our ZEEIsGreen initiative, we aim to transform our environmental commitment into action. By creating eco-wealth, ZEE is confident of building a stronger business and a more sustainable world in the process.
