Zee Telugu gains the leadership position leaving behind its competitors in both Urban and Rural markets of AP & T with the airing of WTP and BBM Srimanthudu in Week 45.
The World TV Premier of Srimanthudu has delivered a record breaking 6730 TVT in NCCS 4+, which is highest for a movie in the last decade, since Zee Telugu’s inception. This movie topped in all key TGs like NCCS All, Female ABC 15+ and Male ABC 15+ in urban pockets, beating all the Block Busters including Bahubali.
Srimanthudu, being a ‘Larger than Life’ movie has been talked about in the past. We all know the greatness of the movie and the social impact it has created across India. The Mahesh Babu and Shruti Haasan starrer has created ripples in the Tollywood industry. The movie premiere on Nov 8th 2015 had over 1.35 cr viewers in AP&T (U) market and overall this movie reached a phenomenal 3.28cr population in AP&T (U+R). This penetration has been possible through the fantastic Movie Packaging, Smart break structure, ATL, BTL and Digital Marketing.
The promotion for the movie was planned for an entire month before the premiere. Focused promotions specific to Rural Areas were considered. Newspaper ads in various newspapers were taken out well before a week of the telecast.
The on-air contest for the movie premiere which got over 2.65 lacs SMSs in about 3 hours’ time, resulting in jamming of networks. Winners were given Bicycles and Srimanthudu T-shirts as gratification.
On the digital space, the movie premiere of Srimanthudu was promoted through various aspects of the movie viz. Mahesh Babu, Shruti Haasan, DSP’s music, the director‘s way of portraying the movie and the impact of the movie encouraging people to adopt villages to make them self-sufficient.
The movie premiere was trending on Facebook and Twitter with the hashtag #SrimanthuduOnZeeTelugu on the day of the movie premiere and the day following it. The posts reached to about 1.3 million people with a huge engagement of audience. One of the most popular songs – ‘Charuseela’ was played twice during the movie premiere which got a lot of appreciation from the viewers.
