Marathi film industry’s most glamorous and glittering award show i.e. Zee Talkies’ Maharashtracha Favorite Kon – 2012 was announced recently with the final winners of viewers’ favorites. This year there were total 14 nominated categories and the winners were declared at the event. This was the 4th year of the award show and it’s already an extremely popular and most fascinating award show of the Marathi film industry.
Lux Maharashtra’s Favorite Kon is the single largest and only viewer choice based movie award in Maharashtra. A democratic voting process driven by the people and for the people the award one of the most sought after events in the Marathi film industry.
The event saw many an unprecedented response to the single day voting initiative undertaken across 8 towns in Maharashtra, like Mumbai, Pune, Nasik, Aurangabad, Ahmednagar, Satara, Sangali and Kolhapur. More than 15000 forms were received on ground reiterating the fan following Zee Talkies and Lux Maharashtracha Favorite Kon enjoys.
This year’s event was hosted by the extremely versatile Mahesh Manjrekar and saw some mesmerizing performances by the leading lights of the Marathi industry. The event was well attended by some of the biggest names in the industry. The event saw a closely fought battle for the title of Maharashtra’s favorite in the categories for best movie, best actor and best actress.
The glitter, glory and grandeur of Marathi Film industry descending on the Red Carpet at the awards ceremony, were Sachin Pilgaonkar, Sonali Kulkarni, Sachin Khedekar, Mrunal Kulkarni, Sunil Barve, Nagesh bhosale, Jeetendra Joshi. Sandeep Kulkarni, Director Chandrakant Kulkarni, cinematographer Sanjay Jadhav, Santosh Juvekar, Deepa Parab, Priya Bapat, Manva Naik and many more.
The most exciting acts of the evening include Ankush Chaoudhari, Amruta Khanvilkar, Siddarth Jadhav, Urmila Kanetkar, Manasi Naik’s sizzling dances. Today’s most popular comedy artists Makarand Anaspure, Satish Taare, Vaibhav Mangale, Nilesh Sabale, Bhalchandra Kadam and Kranti Redkar rocked the show with their hilarious performances. Ankush Choudhari and Urmila Kanetkar paid a tribute to Yash Chopra with his popular love songs.
