Amar Prem is Amruta s story; Amruta is a simple girl who values her family more than anything. She is all set on becoming a psychologist when fate brings her face to face with Satyajit, the boy who her parents have selected for her younger sister, Suruchi. Satyajit instantly falls for Amruta but she doesn t encourage him in any way. Amruta finally confesses her feelings for Satyajit after a lot of push and support from Suruchi. But this is just the beginning of her woes. Not only does her mother oppose this relation in every way she can but she also reveals a secret from the past that will shatter Amruta s world. Amruta sets out to find meaning in her seemingly pointless life. Satyajit and Suruchi stand by her in this trying phase.
