Zee Marathi bought festive cheers to its viewers with the telecast of the annual Zee Marathi Awards 2014 on 26th October. As a very special offering rejoicing the festive season and a dedication to the people of Maharashtra, Zee Marathi unveiled its new channel anthem ‘Zee Marathi Geet’ in a glittering award ceremony celebrating the close ties & relationship that the channel has with its viewers and the Marathi entertainment industry.
The ‘Zee Marathi Geet’ was launched by the Marathi Film Industry stalwart Mr. Sachin Pilgaonkar. The song has been conceptualized and shot by the Zee Marathi Promo team, penned by Mandar Cholkar, music is given by A. V. Prafulchandra & sung by likes of Sachin Pilgaonkar, Avadhoot Gupte, Neha Rajpal, Savni Ravindra amongst others and the choreography is by Subhash Nakashe.
Speaking on the launch of the song, Zee Marathi, Business Head, Mr. Deepak Rajadhyaksha said “It’s our endeavor to create a song that embodies the spirit of Maharashtra; a song that captures the modern yet rooted Maharashtrian who is ready to embrace change while confirming to all that is true to the culture and rich heritage of Maharashtra. The anthem captures all of this as Zee Marathi is the one and only brand that cuts across all age, caste and gender barriers and brings out the essence of Maharashtra. It was thus quintessential that we created the song the way we envisaged it, because we see this song as the anthem of Maharashtra and not just Zee Marathi”.
Besides being launched on one the biggest platform on the channel and being pre-promoted across off-air to create anticipation, the song will also be promoted post launch heavily through the on air and off air mediums with special emphasis on social media to drive the popularity of the song.
The annual Zee Marathi Awards is a viewer’s choice awards for the best on Zee Marathi and its theme ‘Utsav Natyancha, Aaplya Mansacha’ is about taking the brand closer to the viewers. The award show is preceded by an extensive on-ground; mobile and internet voting campaign where the viewers get to choose their favorite shows, artists and reflect their belief in the channel. This year there the number of cities where voting booths were set up was increased to 14 from 8 in the previous year with viewers being able to vote in 70 centres across the 14 cities. With the growing vote count each year the viewers have been encouraging Zee Marathi to deliver value based quality entertainment consistently.
