Ten Sports, South Asia’s biggest sports content provider announced today that it has secured LIVE and Exclusive rights from Total Sports Asia to broadcast Brazilian League for the 2012 season to 2014 season on multiple distribution platform for South Asia. As part of the agreement, TEN Sports will be showcasing two leagues from Brazilian League – The S o Paulo State Championship (PAULISTA) and The Brazilian National Championship (BRASILEIR O Serie A). TEN Sports will be telecasting 82 matches LIVE and Exclusive from the league.
Together with the broadcast of UEFA Champions League, Europa League, TEN Sports reinforces its position as the ‘Home of Football’ for fans in the Indian subcontinent. Brazilian League is one of the best football leagues in the world. The league has been the breeding ground for football superstars over the last few decades. Some of the most famous players in the world have played in this league, including Pele, Romario, Ronaldinho, Ronaldo, Kaka, Cafu, Zico, Roberto Carlos, Rivaldo, etc. The current sensation Neymar, who is tipped to be the next global superstar plays for the Brazilian club Santos and scored the goal that was voted the best goal in 2011 by FIFA.
Ten Sports will be telecasting 28 matches from The S o Paulo State Championship (PAULISTA) LIVE and Exclusive. It is the most competitive and organized Regional Championship of Brazil. Top clubs of Brazil like Corinthians, S o Paulo, Santos and Palmeiras compete in this championship.
Ten Sports will also be telecasting 54 matches LIVE and Exclusive from Brazilian National Championship (BRASILEIR O Serie A). It is the most important football competition in Brazil. Top Twenty clubs compete in the S rie A. Each team plays the other clubs twice, once at home and once away, for a total of 38 games. The S rie A will serve as a qualifier to 2013 Copa Libertadores. The top-three teams in the standings will qualify to the Second Stage of the competition, while the fourth place in the standings will qualify to the First Stage.
