Zindagi Jodey Dilon Ko Concert with Amit Trivedi at Kala Ghoda Arts Festival that capped the nine-day festival was nothing less than a spectacle to watch. A crowd of over 400 people perched on and around the steps of Asiatic Library, swaying to the tunes of Amit Trivedi’s songs. It was a memorable sight, to see the audience lift neon glow sticks, waving together, when the singer crooned ‘Kinare’ from Queen. This moment right exemplified the theme of the concert ‘Jodey Dilon Ko’ that was sponsored by the TV channel Zindagi.

The music concert opened the act with the popular song, ‘Nayan Tarse’ from the movie Dev.D and the audience hummed along with lot of enthusiasm. After the first set, he belted out some of his other popular songs such as ‘Aasma’ and ‘Zinda’, among others. As an ode to the women cheering for Trivedi, a set of three songs which included, ‘Sawar Lu’, ‘Manmarziyan’, and ‘Ektara’ were performed by his troupe. The gig was indeed a great hit as Trivedi went on to perform songs on popular request as well. The singer took breaks between his songs to talk about the varied topics, including ups and downs of his life, corruption, women empowerment and the theme of the event – Jodey Dilon Ko. He dedicated one of his popular numbers, ‘Manjha’, from Kai Po Che to the audience saying, “Music cuts across all languages and nationalities. Today, all of us have come together to celebrate the oneness of the occasion. I, along with my troupe, am dedicating this song to the theme of the concert – Jodey Dilon Ko.

Talking about the concert, Priyanka Datta, Business Head, Zindagi said, “Our association with the Kala Ghoda Art Festival is an extension of our brand promise Jodey Dilon Ko. Music is a medium that effortlessly brings people together and partnering with the finale of the fest was an obvious choice. The finale with Amit Trivedi and his music was unique, much like our content. It’s a perfect match.”

The goal of the concert was to bring people together with the aim of recognising and appreciating art. The evening not only saw a huge turnout, but also appreciation for the music talent. “The theme of Jodey Dilon Ko was evident through the performance, as Trivedi and his troupe upped the energy level of the audience. We had different themes for every show, but I could see the theme coming across in this concert evidently”, said Brinda Miller, festival director of the Hindustan Times Kala Ghoda Festival.
