Adhering to Prime Ministers nationwide initiative of ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’ ZEE employees across India offices participated in the initiative. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Friday, lauded ZEE & Essel Group Chairman Dr. Subhash Chandra and the entire ZEE family for their contribution towards the ‘Swachh Bharat’ campaign.

The drive was held by ZEE employees from Mumbai, Noida, Kolkata and other main offices in India, wherein employees dedicatedly took time out to clean the streets of their respective local vicinities.

Launched on Oct 2 last year, the ambitious Swachh Bharat mission coincides with the anniversary of ZEE. The Swach Bharat Abhiyan aims to make the country clean by 2019, when the nation will celebrate 150th birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi.

The Centre will spend nearly Rs 2 lakh crore in a five-year span as part of its ambitious plan to completely clean India by October 2019. While the Urban Development Ministry will allocate Rs 62,000 crore for cleaning towns across the country, the Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation will spend Rs 1,34,000 crores for providing clean water and improving sanitation.
