Pune Press Guild, a prime body of Pune print media has started debutant awards from this year namely 'Marathi Chitra Padarpan Puraskar 2010-11'.

Pune Press Guild, a prime body of Pune print media has started debutant awards from this year namely ‘Marathi Chitra Padarpan Puraskar 2010-11’. In this unusual award ceremony, all the debutants who made their debut last year in various technical as well as major categories in Marathi film industry were felicitated. This award function was held at National Film Archieves, Pune, on Tuesday, 12th April 2011.

There were a total of 12 categories for these debutant awards – Best Film, Best Director, Best Music, Lyrics, Supporting Actor-Actress, Child Artist, Best Actress and Best Actor. Along with these regular categories, Pune Press Guild also created 3 different categories in these awards viz. Best Costumes, Best Distribution and Best Publicity. Though these are not the debutant categories, the prime motive was to appreciate these ‘Off the limelight’ categories for the first time in the history of Marathi Cinema.

We are proud to announce that amongst these 3 awards, Zee Talkies’ Natarang is won 2 awards i.e. for Publicity and Distribution. The Best Publicity Award was won by Ms. Sugandha Lonikar, Senior Manager, Channel Promotion, Zee Marathi/Zee Talkies and The Best Distribution award was won by Mr. Saadik Chitlikar for Natarang.

Apart from Natarang the other films nominated for the same categories were ‘Zenda’, ‘Shikshanachya Aaicha Gho’, ‘Mumbai Pune Mumbai’ and UTV’s Oscar nominated film ‘Harishchandrachi Factory’.

Natarang, stands as an internationally acclaimed film today having completed full circle with these awards. It has many winnings to its credit which include all sorts of creative and technical awards like Best Film, Best Director, Best Music, Best Lyrics, Best Singer, Best Actor, Best Choreography, Best Background, Best Supporting Actor. The two new awards have added further glory to the winning legacy of Natarang.
