Keeping up with its tradition of presenting for its discerning viewers the various Islamic Holy Festivals with all the faith and fervor intact, Zee Salaam is coming up with the soulfulness of URS LIVE from Ajmer (Rajasthan) this year too. The festival of Urs is celebrated to commemorate the death anniversary of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti also known as Khwaja Gharib Nawaz ‘The Benefactor of the Poor’. In order to mark this momentous occasion and to honour the sentiments of the Muslim community, Zee Salaam will telecast each and every ritual LIVE from Khwaja Gareeb Nawaz’s Shrine in Ajmer with the theme “URS MUBARAK” on the channel for the 4th consecutive year. The programme from 1st Day of URS at 4.00 pm & 11.00 pm.
The radiance of the new moon, the pious pilgrims intently waiting at the heavenly doors of the dargah, the special offerings at the Badi and Chhoti Degs (Larger than life utensils from the times of Akbar and Jehangir), the effulgence of sacred lamps, the grandeur of giant doors, the reveling Maulas at the mehfils singing qawallis and the procession of admirers on their way to offer the holy Chadar to Khwaja, will be shown LIVE on Zee Salaam from the 1st to the 6th Rajab. This LIVE telecast by Zee Salaam was indeed a blessing for those who couldn’t make it to Ajmer on the momentous occasion of the 801st Urs.
