Zee Marathi recently launched its 1st edition of Diwali special magazine titled ‘Utsav Natyancha’. The response was so overwhelming that all 50,000 copies were sold out within 2 days.

The magazine is a bouquet of offerings. It talks about the spectacular 18 years of Zee Marathi’s successful journey, changing dynamics of Marathi entertainment industry and interviews, articles, anecdotes from eminent artists and personalities of television and movie industry. A lot of them who have been part of the channel since its inception have shared their nostalgic moments too.

Rarely do you find a family where a Diwali magazine is not read at all so Zee Marathi thought of taking up this responsibility and safeguarding it. The best part of the magazine is that the content is not just restricted to the older generations or to women but there is something for everyone. Like Zee Marathi has always encouraged new talent, even in the magazine, we are giving an opportunity to amateur writers to publish their own articles in one of the sections.

Raj Thackeray, chief, MNS, released the magazine in a special event called ‘Nakshatranche Dene’ along with Sachin Pilgaonkar and other dignitaries.

The launch was supported by a focused Television, print, outdoor & on-ground campaigns. Social media has been used effectively to inform about the availability of the ank across various markets.

Priced at INR 100, the magazine has 272 pages and is published by Granthali Publication and in its very first year, it has made a record sale of around 50,000 copies across Maharashtra in just 2 days. It defied all industry norms & beliefs further strengthening Zee Marathi’s position in minds of consumers.

“In today’s digital world where the existence of physical books is getting obsolete, we decided to enter this new arena. A Diwali magazine has always been part of Diwali tradition & culture for most Marathi-speaking people and among the many intrinsic aspects of the season is the ubiquitous Diwali ank. It is the first time we are stepping out of the television set and bringing something that a viewer can touch, feel and cherish for a longer time”, says Nilesh Mayekar, Business Head, Zee Marathi.

With the launch of Zee Marathi’s Diwali magazine, we will continue to evolve but also make efforts to celebrate traditions, culture and relations that is an integral part of the people of Maharashtra.
