Zee Telugu, the channel created with a vision to provide wholesome entertainment to the entire family, has become a very popular channel amongst all age groups today. The programs range from fiction, devotional, music, dance, comedy, to reality shows, events and blockbuster movies.
Zee Telugu, the first southern regional channel from Zee bouquet was launched in the Yr 2005. It’s been just 7 years and the channel has never stopped growing or doing something path breaking.
The channel’s biggest step post its launch was giving away something that’s very dear to every viewer. It Gave Away Gold!!! Yes! Gold via its show Gold Rush. With this show ZEE confidently announced the arrival of Zee Telugu in Telugu GEC. Everyone was up and on-guard.
With established players in the market, Zee Telugu brought about a radical change in viewership patterns and gave a new path to Telugu GEC. Zee Telugu has been a head turner by bringing in innovative ideas and concepts like ‘Reality’ into regional entertainment. We did start small but we went on to rule the prime time with reality talent shows like Sa Re Ga Ma Pa – A Singing Sensation and Aata – The Ultimate Dance Show.
Zee Telugu has been always been a pioneer in the Telugu GEC space. It gave the concept of a morning wellness and devotional band. It also launched Telugu’s GECs first cookery show Mee Inti Vanta, which has completed more than 2500 episodes and is still running successfully.
As of today, Zee Telugu has gained immense success by maintaining its trend of innovations and creative thinking through shows like Chittam Chittam Prayaschitam and Lakku Kikku which rule the Prime Time band.
Zee Telugu tasted success in Fiction with its serial Chinna Koadalu. Chinna Kodalu means Choti Bahu in Hindi, but for Zee Telugu it was really its Badi Bahu! Chinna Kodalu was the serial which gave ZEE its foothold into the Fiction genre. Once Chinna Koadlu was established ZEE’s fiction went only in one direction, which was UP! Zee Telugu was always known for its nonfiction content, but now we have showed our might by occupying the No.1 spot during the fiction slots between 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm where Gemini has been pushed back to the number 2 spot. This is thanks to Zee Telugu’s shows like Kalavari Kodallu, Chinna Kodalu, Muddu Bidda just to name a few.
Zee Telugu makes it a point to entertain its audience with many good and well-presented blockbuster movies. Keeping up the glory of blockbuster films this year we have been able to bank in films like O My Friend, Kandireega, Sri Rama Rajyam, Bodyguard, Dammu, thus adding this to the existing bank of a great range of Telugu films, especially blockbusters from recent successes to all-time hits.
To icing on the cake was Zee Kutumbam Awards, which was the first ever Rishtey award aired on Telugu GEC. This event was the highest rated event in the last 20 months; it achieved a 9.2 TVR avg. rating. Highest Viewership! Highest Time Spent! Highest Viewers!
