For the first time ever in the Bangla entertainment space, Zee Bangla took an innovative initiative for the launch of Subarnalata. As part of the initiative the channel took out a procession in and around Kolkata.
The procession was led by 60 women from different walks of life shouting slogans on women centric issues, like rights for girl child education, against child marriage, biased behavioral pattern with the girl child and many others in connect with the main story line of Subarnalata.
Zee Bangla’s new show – Subarnalata was launched on the April 26 and will be telecast daily 6:00pm from Monday to Saturday. The story is about the journey of a girl, who gets married at the tender age of nine years into a conventional family. The story traces the unceasing and lonely struggle of this girl for her identity and independence.
